Welcome to CrystalRoom. By downloading, installing, or using the app ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Krida LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
CrystalRoom is owned and operated by Krida LLC, based in Colorado, U.S.A. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
1. Intellectual Property
All content within CrystalRoom — including but not limited to crystal structure data, 3D visualizations, interface designs, code, and other materials (collectively, "Content") — is the sole property of Krida LLC and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
You are strictly prohibited from copying, reproducing, reverse-engineering, decompiling, or redistributing any part of the Content without prior written permission from Krida LLC. "CrystalRoom" and associated visual identity are trademarks of Krida LLC.
2. License to Use
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Krida LLC grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use CrystalRoom on an Apple Vision Pro device you own or control, for personal or educational, non-commercial purposes.
This license does not include the right to:
- Use the App for commercial purposes without prior written consent from Krida LLC
- Transfer, sublicense, or resell your right to use the App
- Attempt to bypass any security features of the App
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices within the App
3. Institutional Licensing (CIF Import)
CrystalRoom is free to download. CIF Import — the ability to load custom CIF files — is available through institutional licensing for universities, research labs, and educational programs. Consumer in-app purchase of CIF Import is not currently offered.
If your institution is interested in licensing CIF Import, contact us at support_crystalroom@kridallc.com. Institutional licensing terms will be set out in a separate written agreement between Krida LLC and the institution.
4. User-Provided Content (CIF Files)
CrystalRoom supports loading CIF files for visualization. Where CIF Import access has been granted (via institutional license), you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any CIF files you import. Krida LLC does not review, store, or access CIF files you load into the App. All file processing occurs locally on your device.
We make no representations about the accuracy or completeness of crystallographic data contained in user-provided CIF files. CrystalRoom is a visualization tool and is not a substitute for professional crystallographic analysis software.
5. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose, attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems, or interfere with the App's functionality.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. KRIDA LLC DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT CRYSTALLOGRAPHIC DATA IS SUITABLE FOR EVERY USE CASE. THIS APP IS INTENDED FOR EDUCATIONAL AND VISUALIZATION PURPOSES ONLY AND SHOULD NOT BE USED AS THE SOLE BASIS FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH CONCLUSIONS.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KRIDA LLC AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA OR ISSUES ARISING FROM THIRD-PARTY SERVICES. IN NO EVENT SHALL KRIDA LLC'S TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP OR ANY IN-APP PURCHASE IN THE PRECEDING TWELVE MONTHS.
8. Privacy Policy
Your use of CrystalRoom is governed by our Privacy Policy. CrystalRoom collects no personal data. By using the App, you agree to the terms of the Privacy Policy.
9. Apple App Store Additional Terms
If you downloaded CrystalRoom from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that:
- These Terms are between you and Krida LLC, not Apple Inc.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App
- Apple is not responsible for the App or its content
- Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising out of these Terms will be resolved in the courts of Colorado, USA.
11. Modifications
Krida LLC reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will indicate the effective date of the most recent update at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after modifications constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
