The app collects no personal data. Apple’s standard EULA also applies.

1. Agreement

Welcome to CrystalRoom. By downloading, installing, or using the CrystalRoom app (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). They form a legally binding agreement between you and Krida LLC, based in Colorado, U.S.A. (“Krida,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, your use is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Apple’s EULA”). These Terms add to Apple’s EULA; if the two conflict, Apple’s EULA prevails to the extent of the conflict.

2. License to Use

Subject to these Terms, Krida grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on any Apple Vision Pro that you own or control — for personal, educational, research, or commercial purposes.

You may not:

Copy, redistribute, sell, rent, lease, or sublicense the App, or extract and redistribute its bundled content outside the App
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits this despite this restriction
Attempt to bypass or disable any security feature of the App
Remove or alter any proprietary notices in the App

3. Intellectual Property

The App — including its software, code, 3D visualizations, interface design, graphics, text, and other original materials — is owned by Krida LLC and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. “CrystalRoom” and its visual identity are trademarks of Krida LLC.

The built-in crystallographic data is derived from published scientific literature and open crystallographic databases. Krida claims no ownership of the underlying scientific data, which remains subject to the terms of its original sources.

You may capture and share screenshots and screen recordings of the App for teaching, presentations, publications, and social media.

4. Safe Use

CrystalRoom includes full immersion, in which you can walk through a room-scale crystal lattice. For your safety:

Use the App in a clear, safe space, and stay aware of your surroundings — people, pets, furniture, stairs, and other obstacles.
Do not use immersion while walking in unsafe areas, operating a vehicle or machinery, or in any situation that requires your full attention.
Follow Apple’s Apple Vision Pro safety and health information, take breaks, and stop using the App if you feel discomfort, dizziness, or eye strain.

You are responsible for using the App safely. Educators using the App with students are responsible for appropriate supervision.

5. Price, CIF Import & Institutions

CrystalRoom is free to download and has no in-app purchases. CIF Import — the ability to load custom CIF files — is available only through institutional licensing for universities, research labs, and educational programs, under a separate written agreement between Krida and the institution. To ask about it, contact support_crystalroom@kridallc.com.

6. User-Provided Content (CIF Files)

Where CIF Import access has been granted through an institutional license, you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any CIF files you load. Krida does not review, store, or access CIF files you load into the App; all file processing occurs locally on your device.

We make no representations about the accuracy or completeness of crystallographic data in user-provided CIF files.

7. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose, attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems, or interfere with the App’s functionality.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. KRIDA LLC DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT ITS CRYSTALLOGRAPHIC DATA IS SUITABLE FOR EVERY PURPOSE. CRYSTALROOM IS A VISUALIZATION AND EDUCATIONAL TOOL; IT IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL CRYSTALLOGRAPHIC ANALYSIS SOFTWARE AND SHOULD NOT BE THE SOLE BASIS FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH CONCLUSIONS. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THESE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KRIDA LLC AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP. KRIDA LLC’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) US$50.

NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, FOR FRAUD, OR ANY OTHER LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

10. Privacy

The CrystalRoom app collects no personal data. How we handle data on this website — including analytics and your cookie choices — is described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Apple App Store

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that:

These Terms are between you and Krida LLC, not Apple Inc.
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
Your use of the App is also governed by Apple’s EULA, which prevails if it conflicts with these Terms.

12. Termination

Your license ends automatically if you breach these Terms; you must then stop using and delete the App. You may stop using the App at any time. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App, in whole or in part, at any time.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of Colorado. If you are a consumer, you also keep any mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence — including in the EU and UK — and nothing in these Terms affects those rights.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will show the effective date of the latest version at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the updated Terms.

15. General

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and, where applicable, Apple’s EULA, are the entire agreement between you and Krida about the App. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
