Interpretation and Definitions
Words with initial capital letters have meanings defined under the following conditions and apply equally whether terms appear in singular or plural.
- Application: The CrystalRoom software program, available for Apple Vision Pro.
- Company: Referred to as "we," "us," or "our" — Krida LLC, based in Colorado, U.S.A.
- Data Controller: For GDPR purposes, Krida LLC is the Data Controller.
- Device: Any Apple Vision Pro device that accesses the Application.
- Personal Data: Any information that identifies or can be used to identify an individual.
- Service: Refers to the Application.
- Website: kridallc.com/crystalroom and its subpages.
- You: The individual accessing or using the Service.
Collecting and Using Your Personal Data
CrystalRoom does not collect, store, or transmit any Personal Data. No account creation or authentication is required to use the app. All crystal structure data is either bundled with the app or loaded locally from files you provide on your own device.
We do not operate any servers that receive data from the app. There are no analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or tracking frameworks integrated into CrystalRoom.
In-App Purchases
CrystalRoom does not currently offer consumer in-app purchases. CIF Import is available through institutional licensing agreements. If an institutional license arrangement is established, any associated billing is handled directly between Krida LLC and the institution — Krida LLC does not collect individual payment information from end users.
Locally Stored Data
So that it can pick up where you left off, CrystalRoom stores your session — the current structure, supercell, and view — along with display preferences locally on your device, using standard visionOS storage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted anywhere. It is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Third-Party Services
The CrystalRoom app does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. No external data is transmitted from the app during normal use. The Website’s use of third-party services is described in Part 2.

This policy also covers this Website. The Website is separate from the app: nothing you do in the app is linked to your visits here.
Hosting and media
The Website is hosted on GitHub Pages, and its videos are delivered from Cloudflare. Like any web server, these providers receive your IP address and browser information in order to deliver pages and protect against abuse. Fonts and scripts are served from this Website itself, not from third-party font or script services.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Website — for example, which pages are viewed, the approximate region visitors come from, and the type of device and browser used. It sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_*. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We do not use analytics for advertising, and advertising storage is disabled.
- EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland: analytics runs only after you choose Accept in the cookie banner.
- Elsewhere: analytics is on by default, and you can turn it off.
- You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings, also linked in the footer of every page. Declining removes the analytics cookies from your browser.
Google processes this data on our behalf. Google LLC is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions, which cover transfers to the United States. Event-level analytics data is deleted automatically after the retention period configured for our Google Analytics property. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Retention of Your Personal Data
Since the CrystalRoom app does not collect Personal Data, no data retention policy applies to the app on our end. Your local session and preferences are retained on your device until you delete the app. For website analytics, see This Website above.
Security
Because no Personal Data is collected or transmitted, there is no associated data security risk from our application. Your crystal structure files (CIF files) are processed entirely on your device and are never sent to our servers. The Website is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections.
Your Rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR
The CrystalRoom app does not process or transmit Personal Data, so there is no app data for us to access, correct, or delete.
For this Website, our legal basis for analytics in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time via Cookie settings, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Analytics data is pseudonymous; you may ask us to access or delete data associated with your visits by emailing support_crystalroom@kridallc.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
Children's Privacy
CrystalRoom does not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 13. The app collects no data from any user regardless of age. CrystalRoom is rated 4+ on the App Store (or the local equivalent, such as AL in Brazil) and is suitable for all audiences. The Website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly use analytics to collect information about children.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes are effective when posted at this URL. We encourage you to check this page occasionally. Your continued use of the App or the Website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
